of all the forty-four men who have served as president of the united states, only five have worn full beards: lincoln, grant, hayes, garfield and harrison.
furthermore: aside from johnson—who ascended upon lincoln’s death (i.e. was not elected)—and harrison, our bearded presidents served consecutively.
also: of the five bearded presidents, two were assassinated. crazy.
